Based on the overwhelming success of last year's OPERA FOR ALL! concert, we're bringing the production back for an even bigger, more memorable presentation this Fall.
"Opera For All!" will be an event for the whole family on Saturday, September 11 at the Plaza Theater. The evening will feature tributes to the victims of 9/11 as well as the victims of the Juarez violence with a theme of global unity through the music of Puccini, Verdi and many other great favorites. As part of the exciting new partnership between the Orquesta Sinfónica de la UACJ and El Paso Opera, Maestro Carlos Garcia of Juarez will be conducting the "Opera For All!" show. This partnership was created to establish a cultural bridge that addresses the current violence in Juarez while shining a positive light on the region.
World-renown opera star Lauren Flanigan will be starring in "Opera For All" along with incredible vocal talents from New York City Opera. Flanigan was previously in El Paso in February to teach a special series of master classes for the UTEP Music Theatre Company as part of El Paso Opera's partnership with the university to provide students with real-world opportunities for career training.
