Artist Ambassador Samantha Dávalos, Soprano

Samantha Dávalos is a Mexican American soprano from the West Texas city of El Paso. She obtained her BM from The University of Texas at El Paso in Vocal Performance and her MM from Arizona State University in Voice, Musical Theatre, and Opera Performance.
Some of Samantha’s favorite roles include the title role in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, “Anna Maurrant” in Street Scene, “Linda Morales” in Hometown to the World, and “Harriett Beecher Stowe” in The Infinite Energy of Ada Lovelace. As a versatile artist, she has performed in musical theatre as well as in solo works such as Richard Strauss’ Four Last Songs and has premiered pieces in both the United States and England.
In 2021, Samantha joined the El Paso Opera as a Resident Artist. Since then, she has performed the role of “Calavera” in Frida, been a chorus member in La Traviata, and a soloist in EPO’s concert Mozart by Moonlight. Most recently, she portrayed “Celeste #2” and “Harriet Pawling” in Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George.
Ms. Dávalos is also a music educator in the Ysleta Independent School District. When she is not on the opera stage, Samantha enjoys crocheting, dancing, and laughing loudly.
